A Pre-Rift event is an early-access, casual way to experience a new card set before its official release. Players get a first look at brand-new cards by opening booster packs and building decks on the spot.
These events are designed to be fun, social, and beginner-friendly, with an emphasis on learning rather than competitive play. Players are encouraged to ask questions and get help from others during deckbuilding and games.
Pre-Rifts are played in a Sealed format, meaning you only use cards you open during the event—no outside cards from your collection. You build your deck from a limited pool of sealed boosters.
Sealed format basics:
Minimum deck size: 25 cards (you can go larger)
You may include any number of copies of cards you open
Decks can include up to three domains
Legend or Signature cards count as two domains
Extra runes/tokens are provided by the organizer
Battlefields can be opened cards or simple blank placeholders
Decks can be adjusted between rounds
For this specific Pre-Rift, each player receives:
5 Unleashed booster packs
1 themed Champion pack (randomly featuring Jhin, Vi, Master Yi, Ivern, Diana, or Kha’Zix, including a Legend, Rare Champion, Battlefield, and support cards)
1 exclusive Ashe promo card (cannot be used in the deck)
All opened cards are yours to keep, and the focus is on exploration, experimentation, and enjoying the new set.
